Quit Smoking Right Now

“This Sucks”

“My head hurts and I am really irritated at the smallest things.” Quitting the habit causes most people to experience some withdraw symptoms. Depending on how much you used to smoke the experience may be a slight irritability or a full blown attack of the “crazies.” This is a usual part of the quitting process and something that you can deal with if you are prepared. It is a good idea to have a lot of Tylenol or Aspirin at your disposal and you may want to let everyone that you see on a daily basis know that you are going to be a “little moody” because you are quitting smoking. Whatever you do, don't try to quit caffeine at the same time you try to quit smoking because it could get real ugly!

It has been my experience that people will go the extra mile to help you in your attempt and they will put up with a lot if they know that it is for a good cause. It is very important to remember that these issues will pass relatively quickly and this is not a permanent problem. Regardless, some of you will have a very difficult time with this stage of stopping smoking and it may take a couple of tries to get past it successfully. This is not a bad thing, but you may want to think about just how difficult it was before you light up again. Perhaps this will help you make a better decision when faced with thought of “just having one cigarette.”

…to your freedom…
