Hello and welcome to the final part of this Stop Smoking Audio Series

Well I hope you have gained something from our audio series and I also hope your body and mind are free of nicotine as you listen to this. You now have just about all the reasons on earth why you should never smoke tobacco. You have heard the increasingly frightening statistics and you have received some unique tips and advice on getting clean and staying clean for good.

This is not the end though. Whilst our audio series is ending, we will continue to send you tips and advice by standard email. These will give you some more pieces of advice from ex-smokers who found one technique or another particularly effective for them.

 

Remember one thing if you remember nothing else, and that is to take action in the present moment. This doesn't just apply to giving up smoking, it applies to absolutely everything in life. How many times have you received an email and instantly knew you should reply to it immediately but you left it for another day as you wanted to watch some TV or do something else instead? This easily turns into a few days and before you know it, you are replying too late, and you are kicking yourself for not doing it sooner. The same goes for jobs around the home, servicing the car or speaking to someone about something which is a little uncomfortable. These small tasks sit in your mind, cluttering it up with negative messages and constantly making you feel like you should have, would have, could have done something but didn't. All of these small failures and mini regrets cause you to feel lower in yourself which only serves to compound the problem.

Make a commitment today to do everything in life as soon as you decide to do it. No more leaving it for someone else to do, or waiting until you can't put it off any longer, because YOU are ultimately the one who suffers from leaving these things until later. As something comes into your mind which you know you have to do, get it done immediately without delay, and you will feel great. Many smokers have this delaying mindset because the very fact that they are smokers causes them to leave things until later. I can't remember how many times as a smoker I decided to have a smoke before doing something, only to find that thing never actually got done in the end because I was distracted by something else before I got round to it.

Whether it is asking someone out on a date, or fixing a squeaky door in your house, everything is better off being done right now in the present moment, and then it is off the mental task list and your mind is more free and more relaxed as a result. This has an upwards spiral effect where the end product is a happier, more satisfied person who is at ease with him or her self and has pride in knowing they achieved something every day of their life.

It is easy to decide to do something, it is easy to have a great idea in your head, but any idea is powerless until one more thing happens. The power of an idea is in its implementation and nothing else. Ideas are a complete waste of energy until they are acted on. And it is only YOU who can act on them.
